Before and After

Wow! I didn't realize it had been so long since I had written anything.

I spent a good long while down in the dumps, but I think it's time to re-join the world!

Recently, I came across a lot of really good blogs, and these fabulous women/writers/decorators/creative types have inspired me to be creative again myself.

I thought I'd kind of jump-start things by posting a before and after of my little house.

This isn't a true "before," because by the time we took a picture of it, we'd already built the fence, added the first flower beds (when we bought the house, there was one lonely little bleeding heart...which I saved, of course, and re-planted), and the window boxes.

This is "after." After adding a new screen door, painting the old wooden door (which I love) Cardinal Red, building a new front porch, adding three new flower beds, and all kinds of plants down the side of the house to soften how long it is and also to hide the utilities. I love, love what is planted there, especially....dappled willow, my Grandma White's asters, a HUGE butterfly bush.

I am hoping that this is the first of many posts! I am brimming with ideas right now, and determined to "laugh at the days (Prov. 31)."
